Ocean Snorkeling Safari

A wild, respectful, and unforgettable marine adventure

Explore a sea of wonders

Join us on an educational snorkeling safari through the vibrant waters around Cerralvo Island, where deep canyons, strong currents, and nutrient-rich upwellings create an exceptional marine life hotspot. The Sea of Cortez has been called “the aquarium of the world” by Jacques Cousteau — and for good reason !

Each outing is shaped by the ocean’s mood and guided by curiosity and expertise. As we search for wildlife, our experienced guides and captains share stories and science to help you understand the behavior and ecology of the species we encounter — and, depending on how they behave, even snorkel respectfully alongside them.

Whether you’re a passionate naturalist or just learning to float, this experience invites you to marvel at the ocean — not just through your mask, but through knowledge, connection, and shared wonder.

Wildlife we might encounter

The Gulf of California is full of surprises all year long, and every season brings its own magic. It’s home to over 900 fish species and nearly 40% of the planet’s marine mammals. The ocean is alive, ever-changing, and we never know exactly what we’ll find. The timeline below offers a rough guide, but keep in mind that nature doesn’t follow a schedule. Species may arrive early, stay late, or simply pass by unexpectedly — and that’s part of the adventure!
Let the sea surprise you !

  • Whales : Gray (January-March); Humpback (November-May), Blue (Feb-June), Bryde’s (May-August), Fin (May-June)
*Swimming with whales is prohibited in Mexico
  • Mobula ray : April-early July (main season), Nov-March (pre-season)
  • Manta rays : June-September
  • Sharks : Silky shark (June-October), Whale shark (May-June), Hammerhead (May-October)

Bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, sea lions, turtles, lots of reef and pelagic fishes

They can popped up all year long, but you never know when ! Orcas, False orcas, Sperm whales, Pilot whales, Risso’s dolphins, Beaked whales, Blue dragons

What to expect

  • No two tours are the same: the route depends on the weather, sea conditions, wildlife activity, and the energy of the group

  • We explore, not chase: our outings are slow, immersive, and respectful of nature  — Instagram shots will not be the main focus

  • Guided by locals & passionate : our captains are experienced local fishermen who have eagle eyes and strong knowledge

  • Learning by doing: every trip is a chance to share what we know and keep learning from what the sea has to offer
